Cornwall Council Will Robustly Defend Planning Decision

At an open meeting held at St.Dennis on Friday 25th.September, Mr.Tom Flanagan, Cornwall Council Corporate Director for the Environment, Planning and Economy, gave a commitment to "robustly defend" the planning decision made in March 2009 by Cornwall County Council to reject SITA's planning application for a mass burn incinerator near St.Dennis.

Also in attendance at the meeting was Alec Robertson the new council leader, Julian German cabinet member for the environment including Waste, councillors Dick Cole, Fred Greenslade and John Wood who all oppose the incineration application and support the planning decision taken by the previous administration. Planning officers Adrian Lee and Chris Daly also attended the meeting and stated their commitment to defend the March 2009 planning decision.
