Calling for a Public Inquiry

Cornwall County Council are planning to make massive changes to the way it manages Cornwall’s waste. This includes granting a contract to French owned company SITA worth millions of County Tax payers money over a 30 year period.

Sita and Cornwall County Council are planning to build one mass burn incinerator in Mid-Cornwall and to construct 14 Transfer (holding and sorting) stations throughout the County.

The site chosen for the incinerator is St Dennis and it will be sited 500 yards from the village. A village where many children and adults already suffer from asthma and other respiratory illnesses.

If you believe that incinerating and stock piling waste is not the answer for Cornwall or feel that you have not been properly consulted over these matters then please join the call for a Public Inquiry. This will be the only way that you may have your say and make your opinion count.
